Policy Type

Be careful, when purchasing insurance whether online or via the telephone. Not all policies are the same especially when coming down to when you are actually insured for an incident. There are two types of wording for Public Liability: -

  1. 'Claims Made'
    The insurer will cover all claims within the period of insurance; subject to the terms. Thus once the policy has been cancelled and/ or not renewed cover does not apply irrespective if the incident occurred whilst you were insured.
  2. 'Claims Occurring'
    Cover via Royal & Sun Alliance notes a Claims Occurring' basis. Therefore incidents reported after the policy has expired but were insured at the time of the alleged injury or damage are covered.

Public/ Products Liability

Legal Liability to third parties for accidental death, bodily injury or accidental damage to third party property arising out of the business

Treatment Extension

The company will indemnify the Insured to cover any financial loss which has arisen out of any breach of professional duty consequent upon any neglect error or omission in providing advice or treatment in the course of the Business.
